Beardyman tour report
18 May 2010 / Posted in Kormac's Big Band
Last week myself and the Big Band went on tour with Beardyman. I would summarise events as follows:
The YAY
- Listening to our Barbershop Quartet singing 80s songs in four-part harmony with Beardyman beatboxing alongside them. At 430am.
- Cork, Dublin and Galway shows selling out.
- Button Factory projection and sound system.
- The Beardy-gang being great fun to hang out with, a thoroughly nice bunch.
The NAY
- A projector, a keyboard, a snare drum and a needle all breaking during the same hour in Galway.
- Friday's hangover. Some Barbers were, strangely, a little quieter than usual after Thursday night.
- My failure to notice the much-publicised cancellation of all trains leaving Dublin when trying to get to Cork on Saturday.
Thanks to all at Cyrpus Avenue, The Button Factory and Cuba especially Bren, Eoin and Crego for their efforts and hospitality. Special thanks to Beardyman for having us along. Here are some of Simon's shots. The rest have been uploaded to the facebook page.
